The Purpose
In light of the increasing urgency to address climate change and environmental degradation, we are excited to announce an art contest for students aged 9 to 20 years in three 03 different groups. The initiative is titled “Renewable Energy & Climate Change,” aims to inspire young minds to envision a world where renewable energy powers our planet and safeguards it from the looming dangers of climate change. Through this competition culminating in an Art Contest and Exhibition and prize distribution ceremony, we seek to channel the creativity and passion of our youth into powerful visual messages that advocate for a sustainable future and further showcase these artworks at an art gallery.
The annual UN report underscores the necessity of swift and comprehensive measures to combat environmental pollution and mitigate climate change effects. It is evident that renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy, play a crucial role in this endeavor. By adopting renewable energy, we can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, curtail global warming, and diminish the frequency and severity of natural disasters. This art competition will not only provide a platform for students to express their understanding and vision of these critical issues but also foster a sense of responsibility and empowerment among the younger generation. Participants will have the opportunity to illustrate how renewable energy can drive the shift towards a sustainable and resilient world. Raising awareness about renewable energy and sustainability among school students is imperative. By engaging in this art contest, students will gain a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges we face and the solutions within our reach. Art serves as a universal language, capable of conveying complex ideas and emotions in a compelling and accessible manner. This competition will help instill environmental consciousness in young minds, encouraging them to become advocates for change within their communities. Furthermore, such initiatives can spark interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, potentially inspiring future innovators and leaders in sustainable technologies. Through this competition and associated awareness campaigns, we aim to cultivate a generation that is informed, motivated, and equipped to contribute to a sustainable and thriving planet.
Art Exhibition
An art exhibition was organized for school-level students to promote awareness of green energy and environmental degradation. Through this competition, we channeled the creativity and passion of our youth into powerful visual messages that advocate for a sustainable future. We further showcased these artworks at Artsoch Gallery, Lahore, in September 2024. Students were awarded Cash Prizes, trophies, certificates, and souvenirs. A total of 40 schools participated, and over 1,000 art pieces were collected. NCA school teachers evaluated and announced awards.
